Why this music interests us

Šenk's music combines an assured sense of large-scale form with finely judged instrumental colour and rhythmic energy. Her work for both orchestras and chamber ensembles makes her an important voice in the contemporary musical life of Slovenia and a natural subject for Resonance's exploration of underrepresented European repertoire. The challenge and opportunity is to identify chamber works in which her distinctive musical architecture can be experienced at close quarters.
