Sydeman across four decades
Two works for viola and bassoon by William Jay Sydeman, written nearly four decades apart, formed the heart of this programme. Respighi’s youthful Wind Quintet, Stephen Dickinson’s Meditation and Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano, and two clarinet pieces by Marcel Bitsch completed the evening.
